The Office of the Public Defender employs individuals with a passion to serve as advocates for our clients. The Office maintains a staff of 156 employees spread across the Duval, Clay and Nassau County offices.
The office hires:
- Attorneys who are members of The Florida Bar in good standing who wish to serve as Assistant Public Defenders
- Certified Legal Interns who are qualified to practice under the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. Certified Legal Interns (CLI’s) are assigned a case-load and practice under the supervision of a senior attorney
- Investigators
